My daily morning routine is pretty much the same as everyone else's. However, the past few months I've added an extra step, a gratitude journal. There's something to be said about being grateful for everything in your life. Let's be real here, my life is not all sunshine and roses. In fact, sometimes it's actually quite the opposite. Every morning/day I jot down about five-10 things I'm thankful for. To be honest, it was a bit difficult at first and I really struggled, but with time it got easier.
I have a lot to be thankful for. Opportunities, supportive people in my life, and everything in between. Trust me, a gratitude journal will do wonders for how you perceive things. It may not change a shitty situation around, but it does give you the strength to make any necessary changes and the perspective to see the positive in a negative circumstance.
