image While I unfortunately couldn’t attend any of the shows this season for World MasterCard Fashion Week, I did get to attend a great after party hosted by Tia Maria for Bustle’s spring/summer 2014 collection.

Hosted at Toronto’s The Everleigh on Friday October 25, the event gathered media, stylists, and fashion lovers alike. Hosting the event at one of the newer clubs in town, The Everleigh was a great choice. Not only was the décor and vibe a mix of street art and funk, but because it was Halloween weekend, the atmosphere gave off a bit of that spooky vibe as well. Personally, I enjoyed how fresh and different The Everleigh’s atmosphere was compared to most nightclubs. The Everleigh likes to classify itself as not exactly a lounge, and not exactly a nightclub either. You could say it’s the best of both worlds. Yet this weekend, it also came with a Halloween twist!

The main drink of choice that night was Tia Maria. Serving three main Tia Maria mixes that catered to each crowd, my personal drink of choice that night was the Tia Breeze, a mix of cranberry juice and Tia Maria. I chose it because it was a nice light refreshing drink without tasting that harsh bout of alcohol. It’s something that would go perfectly for a girls’ night out or something to sip on while sitting poolside on vacation. It was my personal favourite of the night; so much so, that when given the chance, I suggested it to others. The other two drinks were called the Tia Espresso, a mix for coffee lovers and the Dark Maria, a mix of rum, soda, and Tia Maria which had a bit of a stronger taste than the Tia Breeze.

While the music was going, and the drinks were being enjoyed, I got the chance to meet and have a chat with Aliecia from Urbanology Magazine. Hilariously enough, we bonded over the Tia Breeze and how it was a light mix of Tia Maria and cranberry juice.

Overall, I had a great time. It gave me the chance to network with people in my industry, enjoy a drink or two of Tia Maria, and have a night out at The Everleigh before the Halloween crowd came in. Thanks so much to 1Milk2Sugars PR for the invite! Can’t wait to attend more of these events!
